Dozens of busy bakers produced a range of cakes to be sold at the coffee morning held at the Winchcombe Guide Hall.
Adeline Rucklidge, from Winchcombe WI, said: "It was a splendid morning. There were so many delicious cakes, plenty for every one to have a large piece, and some had a second piece.
"The Winchcombe kitchens were really busy. People came from the surrounding area too, so we met new people, and they were so friendly."
About 250 people flocked to the hall for just two hours in the morning to have a chat and enjoy the craft stall.
The event raised a total of £1,120 for Help for Heroes, the charity which supports British troops.
Mrs Rucklidge said: "Everyone was so generous and supportive, Help for Heroes are delighted."
