​Police are asking for anyone who was in the area of Lydney Lake yesterday that may have witnessed a theft to contact them.

A woman was walking along the path that runs alongside the tennis courts between 1.30-1.45pm when she was approached by a person on a bicycle who stole a black canvas camera bag and its contents from her shoulder.

The offender is thought to be a man aged between 18 and 25, of silm build, wearing a dark hooded top, dark trousers and white trainers with a reflective heel. He was riding a silver bike with ‘chunky’ tyres.

The bag contained a Sony Cybershot digital camera, a number of memory cards, a remote control unit for the camera and a black and burgundy Sony Ericsson touch screen mobile phone.

Officers attended the scene and searched the area to try and locate the offender but no one was found.
