CAMPAIGNERS against privatisation of the NHS are meeting in Cheltenham today to discuss the next stage of their protest.

The workshop at the health centre in Millsom Street will be an opportunity for people to listen to the concerns of campaign group 38 Degrees.

It follows the handing in of a petition with 7000 Gloucestershire signatures to the County's Clinical Commissioning Group in December.

The group is being supported by Stroud Against the Cuts, Forest of Dean and Cheltenham and Gloucester anti cuts groups as well as the Unite and Unison trade unions.

A showing of Michael Moore film 'Sicko' will be shown at 4pm, giving an insight into the partial American arrangements for privately supplied healthcare on which 38 Degrees claims the new UK system is being modelled on.

The Clinical Commissioning Group will be taking on healthcare services in Gloucestershire from the Primary Care Trust in April.
