Car destroyed by blaze in Hucclecote

A car was engulfed by flames last night in Hucclecote.

Firefighters were called to Stanbury Mews at 11.21pm following numerous 999 calls.

A five-strong crew from Gloucester North Station was sent to the blaze.

The car was already well alight when they arrived and one hosereel and two breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire.

    “Well, I suppose there is more chance of a car going up in flames on it's own than there is for a hedgerow, but at the same time I wonder if this is down to arsonists again?”
