Cash brings delight for youngsters at The Rock in Cheltenham
LUCKY youngsters at a Cheltenham youth centre will be whizzing along with the wind in their hair after being given free scooters to use.
Gloucester shop Scoot69 has delivered eight brand new scooters and helmets to children at The Rock charity, at St Peter's Church, in Tewkesbury Road.
It comes after Echo readers voted for the scheme to get funding worth £469.
Generous staff at Scoot69 then ensured that the cash went as far as possible by giving them a great deal on the play equipment.

Debbie Foot, who owns the shop, said she was delighted to have helped out.
"We have been involved in supporting The Rock for some time," she said.
"They do some great things there and we are proud to do our bit to help out.
"All we did was make sure the money raised through the campaign went as far as they could so the young people got as much equipment as possible.
"It's great for them because it gives them access to scooters. They love using them, it's a fantastic recreational activity to get them outside and lead active lives.
"They won't have to pay to use the scooters. I think they have to pay £1 to get into the youth centre, but after that access to the scooters will be free."
The Rock works with many children who are not in mainstream education and come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Staff at the youth centre help to nurture youngsters by getting them involved in fun activities such as biking, skating and free-running. The scooters were delivered to the youth centre this week. Youngsters were said to be "delighted" with the new equipment.
