Cathedral development plans go on show
PLANS to revamp Gloucester Cathedral to the tune of £5million have gone on show in the city.
Project Pilgrim will see College Green, completely landscaped, changing it from a car park to an area which will be used for events, or an outdoor café.

“As much as I agree that the money could be better spent on the actual needy, religion has only ever been about money and power.
and that carpark would be far nicer if it was grass, as many people like to sit on the grass and enjoy the Cathedral.
but please don't add huge glass doors, the old door that you have to walk through is perfect as is, you come up to a huge old wooden door and enter into a beautiful space.
a glass opening would ruin it imo.
why not save a million by keeping the doors the way they are and giving that to those to who it would make a life changing difference,
and in turn get great publicity”

“Fully agree with you Lord Gaga. How much money has been spent on this building over the last 10 years as well as hundreds of thousands of pounds on St Michael's Tower.
I have been to Africa and seen villagers living in mud & thatched huts and going hungry but building stone churches to appease their diocese.
Can anyone with a conscience seriously argue in favour of spending such huge sums when there are so many that could benefit from this money?”
