Cathedral's glories celebrated in new book
GLOUCESTER Cathedral's glories are celebrated in a stunning new book.
Gloucester Cathedral, Faith, Art and Architecture: 1,000 Years, was launched by Lady Mavis Dunrossil, chairman of the friends who helped fund it to commemorate their 75th anniversary.
The work covers the place of worship's history from its foundations to present day.
Written by six local authors, it boasts more than 100 specially commissioned photos of the building's architecture and treasures.
Canon Celia Thomson, who oversees the welcome ministry at the Cathedral, coordinated the book's production and contributed a chapter, said: "After 18 months hard work, it's everything I had hoped for."
The book, at £14.99, is in the Cathedral gift shop.
