CAP'S THE WAY TO DO IT: Sean Kemsley wore an original prefect's cap.
An historical introduction and welcome was given by modern day headmaster Dr Stuart Wilson before contributions from current pupils.
They included a poem read by teenager Sean Kemsley, 15. He also wore an original prefect's cap to also ring the old school bell and bring the audience to attention.

School librarian Jane Bradly, who mounted an exhibition of memorabilia and old photos, said Marling had begun with only about 40 boys.
"It was very small, under 100 pupils until about 1915," she said.
Marling, nowadays a grammar school with academy status, today has 850 pupils.
