CHELTENHAM Town are looking for 34 players aged 16-18 to be part of the Futsal and Education Scholarship in September.

The programme, now in its third year, delivers full-time education and professional futsal coaching.

There is also the opportunity to gain vocational qualifications such as the Level One and Two Football Coaching Awards, and Futsal coaching and referees courses.

The selected 34 players will follow the same coaching patterns as the other Cheltenham Town FC scholars, with a typical weekly schedule consisting of two training sessions, ten-12 hours of Education and a fortnightly fixture in the Futsal National Youth League.

Robins central defender Steve Elliott is the ambassador for Cheltenham Town's Futsal and Education Programme.

He said: "A lot of young footballers fly under the radar but the scholarship will give those footballers another chance to show people what they can do.

"I am proud to be the ambassador for this scholarship programme because I know how tough it can be in this game.

"The scholarship is there to help young players on and off the field."

The first open day is tomorrow at the Abbey Business Stadium from 6pm until 7pm.
