Her promoters are staying tight lipped about the new sound describing it only as "vast musical landscapes with big drums and big guitars" to accompany her voice.
New single ‘The Rise’ is also quite the tease – a two-minute taste of just what her new direction might involve.

Born in 1986, Church came into the public eye aged 11 when she sang Andrew Lloyd Webber's ‘Pie Jesu’ over the telephone on the television show ‘This Morning’.
She released her debut album ‘Voice of an Angel’ in 1998, selling millions of copies worldwide, and went on to sing for the Pope, The President, and dueted with some of the biggest names in music.
In 2005 she launched a new pop direction with the release of album ‘Tissues and Issues’. Despite the UK chart success of singles ‘Crazy Chick’ and ‘Call My Name’, Tissues and Issues accounts for less than 2% of Church’s combined global sales, and her US label failed to back the record.
Following the record, Church decided to take a break from music and concentrate on her family and her new TV career.
‘The Charlotte Church Show’ began on Channel 4 in 2006, and ran for three series’, with Church winning a British Comedy Award for ‘Best Female Comedy Newcomer’.
She was also nominated for the prestigious Rose d’Or award in 2008 for ‘Best Entertainer’.
As well as her own show, Church has appeared in various other TV programmes such as Heartbeat, Have I Got News For You (as both panelist and host), and was one of the judges on Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s 2010 show ‘Over The Rainbow’.
Tickets for the Gloucester show cost £12.50 and are on sale from 10am Friday, June 8.
Doors open at 7.30pm and the concert is for over 14s.

“with a capacity of 400, this will be a far more up close and personal gig than one at Reading or the Millennium Stadium would be”

“Did not a little known rocker play there recently I think his name was Robert ? someone I cannot remember the rest of his name. Well done to the team at the Guild hall for booking these acts more like this are needed”

“After selling 10 million records I doubt if she's performing for the money any more.
Maybe you should go and drool over One Direction Bob?”

“A lot of "intimate gigs" are used as a warm up for a national tour or festival appearance. I saw Rdiohead there and then a couple of days later at Reading Festival!”

“Bands/artists start playing 'intimate gigs' once the hits dry up and the public is bored of them.
Still, lucky old Gloucester at being chosen to host one of these 'intimate gigs'. Presumably the skittle alley at the Exmouth Arms was already booked that night?”

“Intimate gig.
Is that a new way of saying that not many people will turn up?”
