Cheetahs wash out in the Cup

THE Cheetahs' County Cup hopes were washed away on a wet afternoon at Naunton Park.
Visitors Wotton Rovers deserved the victory, but their cause was helped by some poor Cheetahs defending, particularly in a five-minute spell just before half-time when they conceded three goals.
The opening exchanges were even, with Vittorio Rogazzo and Harry Locke prominent with some forceful runs, but two lapses in defence allowed Wotton to take a 2-0 lead.

Adam Chappell then hit the post as Cheetahs started to come back into the game, but Wotton always looked dangerous on the break and it took a fantastic tackle from Patrick Moares to deny them a clear run on goal.
At 2-0 down and with the slope and the elements in their favour in the second half, Cheetahs were still in the game – but that all changed in a mad five minutes when Wotton scored three times to reach half-time 5-0 ahead.
The second half saw Cheetahs restore some pride as Rogazzo scored twice to give the long-suffering home fans something to cheer!
