Chef David Everitt-Matthias closes Champignon Sauvage for Saturday Kitchen appearance
Unlike many celebrated chefs David Everitt-Matthias has a far greater appetite for the graft of his kitchen than the glamour of television.
For the past 25 years he has not missed a single service at two-Michelin star restaurant Le Champignon Sauvage.
The 52-year-old, who runs the renowned Cheltenham venue with his wife Helen, will still not miss a servcie but he will shut for lunchtime next month to appear on live TV show Saturday Kitchen on March 9.
After appearing on the programme, with host James Martin, he will whizz straight back to Cheltenham to reopen again in time for the evening service.

David said he had agreed to feature on the popular programme – as well as an episode of Hairy Bikers three days earlier – to mark the restaurant's 25th anniversary.
He said: "It'll be a new experience for me – especially as I will be closing for the first time ever.
"I couldn't possibly keep the restaurant open while I am away though. I wouldn't be able to concentrate properly on what I am doing. I'm from a slightly archaic school of thought that when people come to my restaurant they are paying to be served by me.
"That is what I have always done. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays and we have shut to go on the odd holiday over the years, but aside from that I haven't missed a service."
He added: "I was lucky enough to be asked to do a couple of things on TV so I thought, since we just celebrated our 25th anniversary, I would take them up. I thoroughly enjoyed filming for the Hairy Bikers – they were great guys. I'm looking forward to Saturday Kitchen too."
