A WARDEN Hill councillor has resigned. 

Jo Teakle stood down from her role on Cheltenham Borough Council with effect from today.

The Liberal Democrat has left her post for health reasons. 

The Borough Council has confirmed her resignation and as such a notice of vacancy has now been published, asking if people want to fill the space.

A by-election for the seat will be held on May 2 this year, the same day as the elections for Gloucestershire County Council.

Conservative Councillor Anne Regan also represents Warden Hill and paying tribute to her cross-party colleague she said: "I think that while we may have different political opinions, we worked very well together and she is an extremely nice lady. 

"In many respects I am sad to see her go."
