Cheltenham College pupil, 16, who was found dead at school is named
A 16-year-old pupil at Cheltenham College who was found dead in his room has been named as Jack Bowlby – nephew of the former racehorse trainer Jenny Pitman.
The £30,000-a- year school was left reeling by the discovery on Friday morning.
Jack was described as a "star pupil" by staff, where a spokesman said it appeared he had taken his own life in the night.
Fellow pupils were trying to come to terms with the news at the weekend.

A school spokesman said: "It has completely rocked us. No one saw this coming at all.
"It is a very sad time. We are just trying to rally round and make sure the support is there for anyone who needs it."
The Bowlbys, like Jenny Pitman, are steeped in horse racing and Jack was known to be an accomplished rider.
His mother Mandy, 54, is a former trainer and his father, Mike, 48, an ex jockey.
