Cheltenham Festival: Flaxen Flare lights up Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle
Trainer Gordon Elliott thanked the owners of Flaxen Flare for their support after he sprang a 25-1 shock in the Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle.
Flaxen Flare cruised into the lead on the home turn in the colours of Pat Sloan and pulled clear of the rest of the field to win by four and a half lengths.

Flaxen Flare wins on day two of the Cheltenham Festival
Elliott said: "The owners are great supporters of the yard and to give them a Cheltenham winner is something special – winning any race here is hard.
"When we bought him we thought he would be a horse for the big days, and if never wins again he doesn't owe us anything.

"He got there too soon and I was panicking a bit, but we put blinkers on him because he's been a bit lairy. This has been a big team effort and we're delighted."
