Former Cheltenham Racecourse MD Gillespie lands new role
Former Cheltenham Racecourse boss Edward Gillespie has been appointed as the new chairman of the Pony Racing Authority.
The 60-year-old, who stood down from his role as managing director at Prestbury Park in the autumn, takes over from Charles Barnett who recently completed his three-year term as chairman.
Chief executive of the Pony Racing Authority Clarissa Daly said Gillespie would help generate further interest in the growing sport.
"It is such an exciting time for pony racing with some great initiatives planned," she said.
