Joe Donaghue in action for Cheltenham Saracens against Wantage Town
Although Saracens started confidently after last Saturdays good win against Oxford City Nomads they failed with the final ball to the front men and gradually Wantage took control.
With both defences on top the match was played mainly in midfield but in the first 20 minutes Wantage forwards shots from deep were almost on target just missing the uprights.

Wantage then took the lead in the 25th minute when a ball over the top of the Saracens defence allowed Tom Joyce to sprint clear and score with a strong shot.On 42 minutes it looked as though the visitors would extend their lead when Horsfell broke through only to be tackled by Sam Slender but the referee decided the tackle was fair.
With the half-time score at 1-0 the Saracens still tried to feed balls through to Ethan Moore and Elliott Kennedy but the Wantage defence held firm and the visitors keeper was rarely troubled.
In the 75th minute from a cross from the left the dangerous Horsfell was on the back post to head home to secure all points for Wantage.
The next match is away to second placed Slimbridge on Saturday followed by Highworth at home next Wednesday in the quarter-final of the Floodlit Cup.
