JOSH Low has been forced to wait more than a month for a chance to redeem himself after the disappointing home performance against Southend United.

A hamstring injury forced him to hobble off during the second half of the 2-0 defeat on December 14 and he has since missed four matches.

But the winger is back in contention for a place in the starting XI to face Accrington Stanley at the Abbey Business Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

"I have been looking for a chance to redeem myself, because I was not playing well in that match against Southend and none of us were," Low said.

"There is never a good time to be injured, but due to the postponements with the weather I didn't miss as many as I could have.

"Southend was my last game, so I am now looking to get back involved and play in a good, winning performance and my hamstring is feeling good."

Low will return to a team that lies eighth at the halfway stage, one place outside the play-off positions.

He knows exactly what it takes to win promotion from League Two, having achieved that feat with Cardiff City, Northampton Town and Peterborough United.

He believes the key to success is to grind out results when performances are not as polished as they could be.

"It's a case of battling it out really," he said

"There have been times when I've been at clubs and we've had great runs, but generally it's grinding it out week-in, week-out.

"You have to keep being consistent, drawing away when you are not playing well and before you know it you'll put a run together.

"At Northampton we spent most of season in the play-offs places and then had a good run of five or six games and ended up finishing second.

"If we keep picking up points, we will be there or thereabouts."

Low has made more appearances under Mark Yates' management that any other outfield player (43). Goalkeeper Scott Brown has started all 52.
