He joined Everton from Tranmere Rovers in 2009 and has represented Wales at Under-16 and Under-17 level.
Roberts was Everton Under-18s' regular keeper in 2010/11 and was part of the side which secured Academy league glory at Fulham at the end of that campaign.
He battled Adam Davies for a regular spot between the sticks for Alan Stubbs' reserve team in the 2011/12, but both men were released by the Blues in May 2012.
Davies made one appearance on trial for Cheltenham at Port Talbot earlier in the pre-season period.

“Not heard those rumours Scout - I would guess that MY would be looking for 1 more experienced league midfielder to sign or get in on a long-term loan to provde cover for Pack / Penn.”

“Some shrewd buys there by Mark Yates.
Hope we can get this young Irish player that's been mentioned as well - Richie Towell I think his name is.
Aren't we also in for TNS winger Greg Draper too?”
