Cheltenham Town: Robins complete McGlashan swoop
JERMAINE McGlashan has signed a two and half year deal with Cheltenham Town.
The right winger has left the Robins' League Two rivals Aldershot Town to link up with Mark Yates' squad and he will be available for tomorrow's home match against Bristol Rovers.

Jermaine McGlashan
Cheltenham have paid an undisclosed fee for the 23-year-old, who has performed well in two matches against them this season. He had 18 months remaining on his contract at Aldershot.
Robins chairman Paul Baker said: "Mark identified Jermaine McGlashan as a target at a meeting on Monday.
"We spoke to Aldershot and after some tough negotiations, we agreed a fee and I think it's an excellent signing.
"He is a young player and we hope he'll be here for two or three years and maybe we will sell him on for a higher fee in the future.
"But the club is keen to invest in the squad now because we don't want to tail off.
"This signing shows our intent and I am delighted for Mark because we were not the only club chasing his signature."

“Cornish - prob safe to say that hardly ANYONE will agree with you about Mr. Allen (satrical cornish joke maybe??). As for the job he's doing at Notts - great to see them falling into mid-table obscurity!!
Onto our new signing then - he was the Shots star player by a mile in both matches against us, he was mighty down the flank - if only the Shots had some decent strikers, then all of McGlashan's work would'nt been in vain.
With McGlashan in, plus Kaid + Bags, I can see this being Josh Low's last season at the Robins - always an up + down form player for us, this season (bar Northampton), he's looked off the pace for most of the season.
Anyway, welcome Jermaine - keep doing for the Robins, what you did against us - difference is, we have strikers who will be able to finish off your charging runs!!
BTW: Sad to see Gallers leave the Robins - but, unfortunately, I could just see it coming. A "steady eddy" player for the Robins through-out his career in a variety of positions, however, the squad has just moved on that bit further this season. Thanks Gallers for your committment and passion for the Robins + all the very best at Bath - sure you'll do a very decent job for them.”

“Hi all
Great to chat. Just a quick point: Being a very loyal fan, I would like to say to a few people – let's wake up and take a breather for a minute. Yes we're doing OK, but I must say this one things, many people may not agree, but 'let's bring back a Mr Martin Allen' in my opinion, the BEST lower league manager of his generation – look at the wonders he is doing at Notts. Yates' just done bring that certain X factor; barroom brawls, passion and great man management are things of the past.
Don't shoot the messenger. Good luck today.
The Cornish Robin!”

“My only nit-picking comment would be that having seen him in both games against us, he goes over too easily and too often plays for the fouls. Ok, we could benefit from that but I'd rather see a fine player, which I think he is, playing honest footy.”

“Agree with all the posts, a great signing and well done to all at WR. Strange comment from the Chairman tho about selling him on in a couple of year, even before the ink was dry. I hope it was because he was just overtaken by the excitement of the moment. He can think this but he doesn't have to say it. I do realise it is difficult for a team like ours to keep first class players but we should be ambitious enough to want to keep these players and have them play for us in the Championship in 2-3 yrs time! Great boost for the fans though and well done to the board for making the money available.”

“What a great signing by MY! Could be just the extra little bit we need to seal promotion! Quite possibly the only thing we were missing other than perhaps a really top class keeper although, to be fair, Scott brown has looked better in the last few games.”

“Excellent news! As I said on Saturday, Looked a class apart on last weekend and could be the missing link as we neeeded a winger who has tricks and can cross!”
