Cheltenham Town: Robins swoop for Reading midfielder
LAWSON D’Ath will go straight into Cheltenham Town’s squad to face Exeter City on Saturday having arrived on a month’s loan from Premier League club Reading.
And the 19-year-old midfielder is likely to start at the Abbey Business Stadium, with Darren Carter injured and Russ Penn suspended.
D’Ath enjoyed a successful loan spell with League One Yeovil Town last season and Robins boss Mark Yates made an approach to bring him to Whaddon Road last summer.
Yates has seen him play regularly for Reading’s reserve team and said that he was looking forward to the prospect of seeing him in Cheltenham colours.

“I have seen Lawson play a lot over the past 18 months or two years,” Yates said.
“He did very well at Yeovil and I enquired about him at the start of the season, but we couldn’t get a deal done.
“But he’s an ideal replacement for us now and he can play just off the striker or in the centre of midfield.
“He is an attack-minded player and a good footballer and we are very thankful to Nicky Hammond (director of football) at Reading for making it happen.”
D’Ath immediately indicated that he would like to remain at Cheltenham beyond an initial month.
He posted on the social networking site twitter: “Going on loan to Cheltenham for a month and hopefully longer. Can’t wait, I’m buzzing to get started, gonna be a great experience.”
