Cheltenham Town offer trial to Faroe Islands star
FAROE Islands international midfielder Claus Jorgensen is training with Cheltenham Town as he attempts to earn a contract with the Robins.
The experienced 33-year-old who has over 300 League appearances to his name is without a permanent club after failing to earn a contract with Port Vale in the summer.

Claus Jorgensen in action for Fleetwood against Gloucester earlier this season
He has been playing for big-spending Blue Square North club Fleetwood Town and therefore could be signed to play for the first team despite the deadline for free and loan signings passing last Thursday.
Jorgensen, who has won 10 international caps for the Faroe Islands, the country of his mother's birth, is a left footed player who can operate either on the left or the centre of midfield.
He was brought to England by AFC Bournemouth in 1999 and has since had spells with Bradford City, Coventry and Blackpool.
He has been playing alongside former Cheltenham Town defenders Alan Wright and Michael Taylor at Fleetwood this season, and gave a solid performance in the Cod Army's 1-0 win against Gloucester City.

“with artus i think it was a case of him being played out of position, and not being played with wingers, we played some of the worst football ever at whaddon road when he was here!! if he came back and played in the formation and team we played against barnet in center midfield we'd see a much better player in him!! i dont see how the fans dont see how much the lack of wingers and julian alsop playing had such a bad effect on our club form and results!!”

“Purveyor of Sneering Sarcasm - I think Tony's point would appear to be that it must be extremely rare for someone to clock up over 300 appearances ALL on a loan basis and not one club that he has been with think enough of him to offer him a contract that he found acceptable. Surely most players have a 'mother club' from which they go out to other clubs on loan. Get it now ?”

“hahaha and the gap slowly closes in again. Next thing you know you will be signing players from Cinderford. C'mon City - players with passion and desire is all I ask for and we certainly have a squad full of them!”

“Early days, but Ben Marshall could be a model loanee, he has certainly raised the spirits of the whole squad. When loan players come into to a club it would seem daft NOT to perform at the best of their ability, especially young up coming players, they should not only try their best for the loan club, but to make their parent club and who else may be watching they are worth keeping or playing higher. Thats why it gets frustrating when the likes of Frankie Artus didnt perform second time around. Was it a bit Billy Big Time with him?”
