Fleetwood had opened the scoring in the 32nd minute through David Ball's close range strike, but Jeff Goulding and Sido Jombati put Cheltenham ahead in the second half following a double substitution.
Cheltenham looked to have done enough for maximum points against the Football League newcomers, but the game's outstanding player rescued a point for Fleetwood and Bennett now faces a three-match ban.
