The loan man from Bury curled in a fine finish after substitute Kaid Mohamed set him up from a Marlon Pack delivery into the box.

It was Harrad's first League Two goal since September 18 and it should have been enough to settle a poor game in Cheltenham's favour.

But careless defending from a set piece cost Cheltenham two points in the 84th minute.

The Robins actually had a corner on their left, but Billy Jones' kick fell to Jamal Fyfield, who broke quickly.

He was tripped by Marlon Pack, who was shown a yellow card and Scott Kerr's free-kick was nodded down by Chris Smith and touched into the net by Jason Walker.

The game did come to life in the latter stages, but the first half was uneventful and frustrating from a Robins point of view.

Harrad had another chance, but Michael Ingham made a fine block and for the second time this term, Cheltenham and York had to settle for a point each.

“A brave move by MY to leave Chelts 2 most attacking players on the bench, especially for a home match, however after listening to a dire 1st half on radio glos, it was clear that the formation/tactics were not working. As soon as Mo and McG were introduced, they made an instant impact, a goal after 2 mins! A sloppy goal again conceded by Chelt meant the points were shared. A match that Chelt needed to win to keep the pressure on the top 2 - 2 points dropped really, just puts more pressure on Friday's away match at Morecombe. Despite the result thou, we are only 1 point from 3rd place, with a match in hand over Exeter, so it's not all doom and gloom.
As for new signings, I think we need 2 strikers - Benson would be a great signing, but I think another body up front would be ideal for the 2nd half of the season - maybe a young striker from the Championship? Goulding just doesnt have whats required for a promotion push. As for the CB position, I agree that we should be looking for an experienced defender, rather than a young, inexperienced CB - as has been pointed out, we already have 1 of those in Hooman.
As for the attendance, absolutely no surprise to see it back down to normal levels - thats footy in Gloucestershire summed up.”

“Hey Ambleside did Yeates really tell the fans to **** off ,thats class!
I have to correct one of your points,I think the majority of fans thought that he had selected the wrong team before kick off...and we were right!
Not so sure on your alligance to Goulding who was poor again on Saturday,I think his days really must be numbered at CTFC,surly Yeates can see hoe ineffectial he is,but have to say that Duffy as not been given the chance to show us if he is a genuine striker,he obviously need someone to play off but when ever he does play his efort and movement is far better than Harrods, though to be fair there is really not a lot between them.
But Ambleside you are right in your observations M Y tinkers to much at times and gets it horribly wrong on others, obvious to the majority of the fans but not to him and his coaching staff,or is he surrounded by yes men?”

“over 2500 supporters knew in the first 15mins that MY had picked the wrong team & formation.why does it take him over 60mins to change it.the changes nearl got him out of jail, but a soft give away goal lost us 2 points.it might not have mattered if his team selection had been more sensible from the start.in the end he had so much earache from the fans, that when he did the toys came out ofthe pram, and he was telling the fans to #### off!its following the same pattern as last season.he puts together a strong squad, goes through the season without any long term injurys, but continually switches formations & players without any ryhme or reason.the best performance at home was the beatin og wycombe 4-0.goulding & duffy up front,no pack,no mo,mcglas the wide player,a joy to watch.alright the same team did'nt performin the next game at oxford, but surely they deserved another run out in the next home game.paul baker was hopeing that a few of the glory hunters that came to everton, might give the york game a try.well i doubt they'll be coming again, after a league performance like that!”

“Poor Team Selection from M Y,Poor Performance,Poor Opposition,Poor Referee...in all bad day at the office.
On that performance you can see why we concede several goals away at times and against a decent teanm we would have been hammered again yesterday.
On Sido, somethings not right with him he as had a poor season and although Lowe lacks pace he as plently of heart.”

Those people who attended the Everton cup game and have no intention of coming to a game until the next time have a Premier opposition discuss me.

“Came on to voice my views but LP1212 has beaten me to it. How are we going to beat teams if we don't score goals ?? How do we score goals if we don't make chances ?? How are we
going to make chances without playing one or both wide men ?? It doesn't seem to matter who
plays up front, our midfield just do not create the openings neccessary. A new striker will
obviously encounter the same problems as the three / four we have tried this season.
York were a poor side and should have been comfortably despatched. I don't neccessarily agree
that Pack and Carter can't play in the same team. They are both good players but should not
be playing side by side doing the same job. Carter needs to be pushed forward more and let Pack play in front of the back four and use his distribution skills without going backwards.
When Russ Penn plays well the team plays well. He started ok today but maybe Mondays
outstanding efforts had taken their toll. The substitution of both McGlashan and Mo was
MY conceding that he had started with the wrong eleven. Maybe the changes should have been
made at half time. MY often states that the team needs freshening up. When is he going
to give Sam Deering the chance to prove himself?? After all he was one of MY's signings.
Also, can anyone explain why, rumour has it, that MY is looking for a young inexperienced
central defender when we have one of those (Hooman) together with Elliott, Bennett and Lowe. Can't really see how that is going to boost our push for promotion.
However, MY has got more decisions right than wrong during his time at Whaddon Road so
lets hope that he can get things sorted ready for a strong run-in. Even if we fail to gain promotion again this season I think that most supporters would agree that the situation at
WR is far more acceptable than it was when Yates took over. We have far better players
than we have ever had. Unfortunately for the Robins, so do many other clubs in our division
and they can afford much higher wages due to better 'gates'. Incidentally, where were the extra 2500/3000 Cheltenham 'supporters' from the Everton match ??”

“Disappointing doesn't begin to cover it. That was 2 points thrown away, as well as being the worst game at WR all season. Thank goodness York were even worse than us (until the last 15 minutes). But one always feared the worst once the starting team had been announced - and I fear the Robins didn't disappoint us, producing a shocking display almost all over the field. Lowe did ok, though frankly should have scored from one of his 3 headers, Elliott was steady and Jones put in some good crosses from set pieces. But how Sido can be named above as Star Man beggars belief - he has been a shadow of his normal self for several games now.

Can anyone explain why MY started with our best central midfielder (Penn) playing wide right? He has tried that before, and it didn't work then either. And as for not starting with one or both of Mo or JMcG to provide some proper width! We looked a different, and proper, side when they came on. Goulding produced his usual ineffective display. But Harrad showed that he remains a good goal scorer - if given the chance.

A midfield that could hold its own in League 1? Certainly not on this showing, though I agree that they have the potential to be so, as indeed they have shown in some games. But we definitely need some reinforcements if we are to stay in the play off positions, let alone make it into 3rd spot, at the end of the season. Another, creative midfielder, plus a proper partner up front for Harrad, would be top of my list. Though I am not sure where MY will find them at a price we can afford.”
