Cheltenham drug smuggler Lindsay Sandiford gets money to fight death sentence
A GRANDMOTHER from Cheltenham who is facing execution in Bali for drug-smuggling now has the £2,500 needed to appeal her sentence
Lindsay Sandiford, 56, who once lived in the town, was sentenced after police arrested her in May last year with nearly five kilos of cocaine.
She had lost a High Court appeal to force the UK Government to pay £2,500 for her initial legal costs for an appeal, but the money has now been donated via the charity Reprieve.
It has also been claimed that a letter sent by British Embassy staff informing a Balinese court she intended to contest the penalty was initially rejected by island officials, who said it had to come from the prison.

“I can't believe the naivety of people making donations to help this woman. Lindsay Sandiford had been trafficking drugs for a long time before she got caught. The chances are, she has contributed to numerous deaths of drug users. Why are you paying money to help her? There are causes to help innocent children who have no food or water. THINK!”

“Hopefully anyone supporting this charity with donations will now see where their money is going and decide to donate to a more worthy cause.
And take a glance at the pic of Sandiford they are using to highlight their case.....must be 20 years old at least...

“She's a professional drug smuggler, so apart from her family and whatever deluded friends she may still have, why would anybody care to save the life of somebody who cared so little for anybody else's life?”

“What a waste of £2500. Hopefully she will be executed asap, she deserves it.”
