Cheltenham man, 43, arrested on suspicion of robbery after machete attack on tax driver
A 43-YEAR-OLD has been arrested on suspicion of robbery following an attack on a taxi driver.
The 60-year-old driver was slashed with a machete and robbed of £200 after responding to a call out. He was left with injuries to his shoulders, hand and mouth following the attack in the early hours of August 24.
Gloucestershire police said the 43-year-old from Cheltenham was released on bail until October 22.
Attackers came out of an alleyway when the taxi driver rang on a door bell in St Peter's Close at about 4.30am. He was forced to hand over £200 from his taxi before the hooded attackers made off on foot towards Moors Avenue.
