Chemical spillage at Staverton Industrial Estate

Fire crews were called to Staverton Industrial Estate to clean up a chemical spillage last night.

About 2,000 litres of pink anti-greasing agent spilled from two seperate drums on a tanker at the Herrick Way site in Staverton shortly before 11pm.

One man was injured at the scene and taken to hospital, but the chemical is believed to be only a mild irritant.

Crews from Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud attended the spillage along with the environmental protection unit in Stroud.
