THE boss of Cheltenham Borough Homes has resigned, it has officially been announced.

Speaking at a Cheltenham Borough Council meeting yesterday afternoon, Councillor Steve Jordan, leader of the council, said: "I can confirm that Paul Davies, chief executive of Cheltenham Borough Homes, has resigned.

"I would like to place on record my thanks for what he's done for the town."

He spoke after the Echo reported earlier this week that Mr Davies had left his position due to a row over an internal restructuring of Cheltenham Borough Homes.

Mr Jordan added: "I would like to wish him all the best for everything he does in the future.

"Paul Stephenson has been appointed acting chief executive and I wish him well."
