Children come face-to-face with Fox hounds
CHILDREN came face-to-face with foxhounds at Andoversford Point-to-Point.
The Cotswold Hunt hosted its annual event on Sunday.
Dogs stole the show as families flocked in.
Cotswold Hunt honorary secretary, Carole Adams, said: "The dogs live here and they are brought out on parade on the day. People love them and the children are just waiting for them to come out."
Dog-lovers can sponsor one of the 70 canines.
They can then watch their dog working throughout the season, receive a mounted photograph and follow its progress and achievements.
Sponsors of the most improved and best working hounds will be commended on the first Saturday of every month.
As well as the racing, the country fair-style event featured stalls selling everything from outdoor wear to food.
Mrs Adams said: "We get all sorts of people – locals, hunting people, racing enthusiasts and sponsors who bring their friends."
To sponsor a hound from the Cotswold Hunt, call Sharon Robbins on 07968 585096 or 01285 850133.

“"The unspeakable in full pursuit of the uneatable"
I have heard so much drivel from hunters.
"I've seen 19 foxes hunting chickens" the fox is a lone hunter!
"The fox is a pest and we don't get many anyway" so why do it?
Drag hunting is a far better sport becaue you can lay a trail that suits the experience of the hunters.
Foxes will occupy an area sufficient for their needs. Kill one and another will take it's place but no more than that. Hunting is just about the most ineffective form of "pest" control.
I personally have seen a fox chased by a hare caring for leverets. If a fox is scared of a female hare imagine how it feels about a ewe caring for it's lamb.
Absolute barbarity by mindless barbarians..”
