A DELEGATION of 21 Chinese business people and administrators were given a crash course in crisis management and communications by PR agency, 10 Yetis, at Gloucester Rugby Club last week.

The delegation was made up of directors from two Chinese government departments and the remainder from state-owned companies such as China Telecom and China Power.

Gloucester-based 10 Yetis delivered a two-hour presentation on how the UK approaches crisis communications, which included several case studies, and also a generic overview on PR tactics in the UK media.

10 Yetis said it was selected because of its reputation across the UK and Europe.

The Chinese delegations is on a 28-day tour of the UK looking at all areas of business. They presented 10 Yetis staff with silk ties and were given rugby club merchandise.

Andy Barr, of 10 Yetis, said: "I felt hugely privileged that 10 Yetis was selected from the thousands of UK public relations agencies to not only deliver a talk on communications to the Chinese delegation, but also that I could introduce them to one of the gems of the Gloucestershire lifestyle landscape by hosting the event at Gloucester Rugby Club.

"This just goes to show how much Gloucester-based businesses have to offer the global economy and I am very excited about taking up some of the delegation's kind offers of travelling to China to deliver training to their specific departments."
