PARALYMPIC hopeful Chloe Ball-Hopkins has been nominated for the Young Sports Personality Award.

The 14-year-old's mum Louisa believes she deserves recognition following her medal-winning exploits in wheelchair basketball.

She reached the finals of the national wheelchair championships and attended the DSE Championships in Blackpool for wheelchair racing, where she won four medals.

She picked up a silver medal in the 100m and bronze medals in the discus, 4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay.

In nominating the teenager, Chloe's mum said: "Chloe was identified at a Playground to Podium Day in Gloucester in tennis and wheelchair racing.

"She trains weekly in both sports and puts in a lot of time and effort."

She added: "She would love to get to the Paralympics."

As well as the Young Sports Personality of the Year award, there are nine other categories in which you can nominate deserving sports stars from Gloucestershire.
