Churchdown singer warming up for big night at the NEC
TEEN singer Iona Amera from Churchdown is hoping to get spotted this weekend as she enters the regional finals of a national singing competition at the Birmingham NEC.
Former Chosen Hill pupil Iona, 19, will be hoping to make it through to the next round of the TeenStar talent show on Saturday.
She will perform her version of Tough Love by Christina Aguilera in front of a panel of expert judges and an audience of hundreds.
Iona reached this stage of the competition by being voted through earlier rounds in January.

She also came runner-up in Gloucester's Got Talent last year at the Olympus Theatre.
Her mum, Deborah Taylor, said: "Iona has always loved singing and she is looking forward to Saturday.
"It is not about winning, but doing something she is passionate about."
The new music contest in Birmingham for teenagers and pre-teens is hosted by Future Music, successful producers of the Open Mic UK competition.
That contest unearyehd acts such as Birdy and Hatty Keane.
It aims to find the UK's best teen singer, duo, vocal group or rapper to be crowned the UK's Best TeenStar.
