CONFIDENCE is flowing in the Cinderford Town camp ahead of tonight's Gloucestershire derby with Bishop's Cleeve at The Causeway (7.45pm).

Saturday's 2-0 success against Thatcham marked the ideal start to a run of three consecutive home games for the Foresters.

The win also came at an opportune moment after Paul Weeks' men had suffered a 1-0 reverse at relegation rivals Taunton on the previous Tuesday.

"We were a bit down in the dumps after the Taunton game and that carried on into the first-half performance," said Weeks.

"I had a bit of a rant at half-time and it did the trick as we had much more shape and discipline after the break.

"We played some good stuff and deserved the win and it puts us in a confident mood ahead of the Cleeve game."

The win secured by second-half goals from Pete Macklin and Kane Ingram was Cinderford's sixth success of 2010, a statistic that highlights their recent improvement in form.

Prior to the turn of the year, the Foresters had claimed only two victories in Zamaretto League Division One South and West and looked nailed-on certainties for relegation.

However, their upturn in form has hinted that the club has an altogether brighter future.

"We're not out of the woods yet but before the first game of the new year we had eight points," said Weeks.

"If we win against Cleeve we will have 31, that's form that would put us comfortably in mid-table.

"We are already starting to build for next season and it's important that people are patient.

"But we are more settled and it certainly feels like my team now and we are slowly moving forward."

Centre half Greg Lewis is struggling with a head injury so Kevin Davies, who normally plays at right-back, is set to partner Dan Harrison at the back.

Midfielder Brad Andrews is set to take a place on the bench, less than two months after back surgery.
