Cinderford prop Nick Selway signs for Championship side Jersey
CINDERFORD prop Nick Selway has signed a deal to join Jersey – and will make his debut for the Channel Islanders tomorrow.
The 24-year-old former Lydney tighthead will step up to full professional rugby for the first time in joining the Championship club.
The 6ft 2in 20-stone number three will offset injuries to Jon Brennan and Tom Fidler in Ben Harvey’s squad.
Selway will take a seat on the bench for Jersey when they host Coventry.

Cinderford rugby director Andy Deacon admitted the move was difficult timing – but backed Selway to impress in his new setting.
Deacon explained: “Once again it just goes to show what playing for Cinderford can bring for you.
“Nick has gone well and now he has an opportunity to make the next step.
“It will be tough going for him, but he’s taking on the challenge and good on him.
“We wish him all the best out there and hope he makes a success of it.
“It speaks volumes for where we are as a club that if you do play well then clubs at higher levels will notice you.
“We are not the sort of club to stand in the way of an opportunity for someone to have a crack at full-time professional rugby.
“That’s been an ambition of Nick’s all his life, and now he has his chance.
“Obviously a week before the start of the season, this isn’t fantastic timing, but we have strong cover in any case.
“Tom Heard on loan from Gloucester will certainly be strong this season, while we have also brought in Elliott Booley from Richmond.”
