YO-YO dieting does no one any favours but many people have been there.

Just when you get to a goal weight and reach for the pizza or chocolate, the pounds creep on quicker than they did before.

So we all have more than a little sympathy with Bernie Stewart who, over the years, has shed 30 stone going backwards and forwards on the scales.

By her own admission, food has been a comfort for her and then once she has stuck to the diet, she piles it on again. Now she has decided to ditch the diet book and is picking up the weights and concentrating on body image and not the number on the scales.
