City boss Mehew is happy for Wilson to keep learning his trade
HOTSHOT striker Scott Wilson will not be returning to the Gloucester City squad in the immediate future, despite his impressive goalscoring form.
The former Bristol City Academy striker moved top of the Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South and West goalscoring charts with a fabulous five-goal haul for current club Yate on Saturday.

Gloucester still hold a dual registration for the diminutive front man but will not be recalling him for tonight's trip to play-off chasing Brackley Town (7.45pm), or any subsequent Blue Square Bet North encounters.
Despite being impressed by his recent form, City boss Dave Mehew insists that Wilson's development will be best served playing regular football for the Bluebells than as a bit-part performer with the Tigers.

"I have spoken to Scott since his five goals on Saturday, but to congratulate him more than everything," Mehew said. "He has obviously progressed and I told him at the start of the year that he needed to rip it up in that league.
"I spoke with him earlier in the year about his future, but it's like the situation we've got with Joe Parker and Matt Liddiard out at Cleeve – their development is best served by playing every week.
"If I'm honest, I would like to have a look at him, but I wouldn't be able to offer Scott the money he's currently on at Yate. But I am sure he would want to play at the higher level.
"At the end of the day we will be mid-table, pushing for the top ten in our league, but Yate are pushing for the play-offs in that division so you have to be fair."
Wilson could well have been in a position to help City during their striker shortage at Altrincham on Saturday.
With in-form Will Morford away in Sweden with Cirencester College and Steve Davies also unavailable due to work commitments, City travelled north with Darren Edwards as their only striker.
A cagey Mehew said he hoped to have one of those two back for the trip to St James' Park as his side look to build on a decent performance, if not result, in the 2-0 defeat.
"We did okay bearing in mind that we had four weeks off and probably played better than we did last year when we went up there and won," Mehew said.
"There were a couple of individual errors and had we gone in at half-time at 1-0 then it would have made it a much easier game.
"We created lots of chances without two of our forward players, but we just didn't put the ball in the net."
Having come through their first game in more than a month unscathed, Mehew can name an otherwise unchanged squad tonight.
