City's ninth Costa set to open next month
FROTHY lattes will be served up at Gloucester's new Costa coffee shop next month.
The national coffee chain, which already has eight branches in the city, is already busy fitting out its latest espresso emporium at King's Walk shopping centre.
Yesterday it confirmed that the branch would open by early October on a date yet to be confirmed, with up to 10 new jobs being served up too.
Penny Mairoudhiou, a spokeswoman for Costa, said: "As the UK's favourite coffee shop and one of the success stories on the UK high street, we work closely with planning departments across the country to open new stores for the benefit of their local communities, creating new jobs and providing attractive and popular social meeting places.

"We can confirm that the Costa store on King's Walk will open in early October and will create between six and 10 new jobs."
Posters have already been put up to advertise the jobs, while builders work behind the scenes to fit electrical equipment.
The coffee shop will take over two former units including Gifts Direct. It will also have a seating area outside the shop in the shopping arcade.
But not everyone is happy about its arrival. John Redfearn, who runs the independent Crows Nest cafe in Westgate Street, said: "It's crazy putting another one in. It is just buckets of corporate coffee.
"But if people are willing to frequent them, then they will keep putting them in."
Those looking for something more independent will be able to turn to the new Boswells cafe, soon to open in The Eastgate shopping centre after it received planning permission this week.
Boswells is a small chain but is family-run, while Costa recently opened its 1,000th shop.
