Agg shot just wide from Smerdon's cross early on then fed Townsend whose effort just cleared the bar before the city team took the lead on 11 minutes, Smerdon converting Brown's corner.
Brennan, Morrissey and Marsh ably dealt with Vale's attacks while at the other end both Morrissey and Agg were denied by Crowther.
Agg doubled the advantage after the break following Lovell's assist and Clift drove into the top corner from 18 yards, Morrisey providing the final pass on this occasion.
Lovell converted Attwooll's cross for his first of the season and his side's fourth of the game to set up a semi final against St Albans on March 3.
Gloucester A: Austin; Spurrier, Brennan, Morrissey, Marsh, Smerdon; Brown, Emmett, Townsend; Agg, Clift. Subs: Attwooll, Lovell.
BATH B 0 GLOUCESTER B 1
GLOUCESTER's B Squad racked up their third consecutive victory with a hard-fought success against Bath at Chilcompton.
The visitors claimed the lead on 10 minutes, Hill following up after Fortey's effort was cleared off the line.
Hill's drive following Fortey's fine pass was then well saved by the keeper with Jones heading the resulting corner against the bar.
The second half of the game saw Atkinson denied by a combination of keeper and defender while Hill shot wide after a great individual run.
The hosts enjoyed plenty of possession and though Kirk struck the bar for the hosts late on, Adams, Hendy, Shelton and debutant Davies gave Bath few other clear sights of goal as the city team recorded their third successive clean sheet.
Gloucester B: Claxton; Tandy, Adams, Hendy, Shelton, Jones; Johns, Clarke, Atkinson; Hill, Fortey. Subs: Davies, Stanbury.
