Civic Society in Stroud, Gloucestershire to hear talk on Russian wooden churches
RUSSIAN wooden churches will be explained to members of Stroud Civic Society and their guests next week.
The illustrated talk at the Old Town Hall in Stroud at 7.30pm on February 21 will be delivered by Richard Davies.
Davis has travelled in the Russian north photographing the fragile but beautiful buildings which have been neglected but are currently now being restored.

“Darn it. I got all excited for a minute. Then I read it properly and realised it was a talk on Russian 'wooden' churches, and not simply 'Russian churches' as I first thought. I'm more of a fan of the brick-built ones, so I'll have to give this one a miss I'm afraid.”
