Club providing social occasion for pensioners
A SOCIAL club for pensioners is continuing to prove a huge success.
The Wednesday Club, which was set up by the Echo in November last year, is going from strength to strength.
New members regularly attend the club for single people aged 65 and over, which meets at Albion House in North Street, Cheltenham, at 2pm every Wednesday.
Around 30 people have been attending meetings since the club started.

Anne Dale, 77, from Cheltenham, said she had been having a wonderful time at the free club.
"It's been good to meet more people and make new friends," she said.
"There is not a lot to do for the older generations these days, as a lot of the focus is on youth clubs and activities for young people."
Albion House has set aside a room for the group, which is first on the right when walking through the main entrance.

“I think its great that a social club has been set up for the olduns,it gives them a chance to get out of the house and meet new friends, pity more of these could'nt be set up for the ones in thier twilight years.Well you know what they say(theres life in the old dogs yet).”
