A spokesman for The Roses said: "With a 2,500-year lineage and roots in ancient Greek satire, burlesque has been celebrated in many incarnations over the millennia.

"The genre today draws on a myriad of styles born of many centuries of cultural reinterpretation and now, experts in the field passionately present the core traditions of the craft.

"With a cast who have devised, mastered and perfected a variety of disciplines and skills, the audience will experience and explore the genre far beyond their expectations.

"The Burlesque Show delivers the brightest of shining and shimmering talent in a medley of five-star showgirl antics, cabaret conundrums and comical farce."

The line-up includes Kiki Kaboom, Channel 4 TV Star Paul Zenon, the delectable Kittie Klaw, Elle Amour, Fancy Chance and Dolores Delight with rising stars Mat Ricardo, Elliot Mason and very special guest Jim Deveraux.

Tickets cost £19 from the box office on 01684 295074.
