THERE is still time for Tewkesbury residents to pick up a bargain compost bin.

On Sunday, Gloucestershire County Council is offering to provide a 220-litre bin for £12 or a 330-litre one for £15 at the town's Spring Gardens car park, from 10am to 3pm.

Councillor Stan Waddington, the council's cabinet member for environment, said: "We want to encourage many more households to take up home composting.

"It not only benefits the environment but saves householders money."
