TWO teenagers subjected another boy to a horrifying attack in a cellar before filling his eyes with concrete, a court heard.

The pair, aged 16 and 17, are alleged to have beaten the 17-year-old in Gloucester.

The attack is alleged to have happened in Salisbury Road, Barton, on November 7 last year. It is also alleged the pair raped the teen.

Details of the allegations surfaced when Cheltenham Youth Court heard on Thursday that a 16-year-old boy accused of assault, witness intimidation and using threatening words or behaviour, was facing a charging decision from police on a "far more serious offence" said prosecutor Peter Ashby.

"Two males took the male victim to a cellar in Gloucester," Mr Ashby told the bench.

He said they sexually assaulted him with a length of wood, beat him and forced him to perform a sex act, then put concrete in his eyes.

The 16-year-old, who like the 17-year-old co-suspect and the victim cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted pushing someone during an argument on November 22.

He denies intimidating a witness in the case of the alleged rape, and of threatening that witness.

Magistrates granted him bail but the 16-year-old must not enter Gloucester unless for pre-arranged legal appointments.

Both the accused are expected to answer police bail by April 3. The not guilty pleas over witness intimidation and using threatening words or behaviour will be considered at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court the next day, along with a pre-sentence report on the admitted assault.

Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed it has bailed two boys, aged 16 and 17, to April 3, on suspicion of rape.
