Each year workplace injuries and ill health cost society an estimated £14 billion and in Gloucester work related ill heath and workplace injuries costs on average £31 million annually.
It is hoped these more flexible sessions will enable more businesses to attend.
Councillor Colin Organ, Cabinet member for Housing, Health and Leisure, Gloucester City Council said; "Businesses should take advantage of this drop-in session for both generic and specific advice regarding health and safety at work.
"We hope the session will prove successful and we will be able to roll something similar out to other trading estates in the City.
We know it can be difficult, especially for smaller businesses to attend more structured courses, as it means spending time away from the business for a length of time which is not always practical. It is hoped this flexible session will enable more people to benefit."

“"I think this is a great idea we need more freely available health and safety advice because it can be a little confusing at times.
If it really is costing society £14 billion then it should be the councils duty to offer these free services to try and reduce this figure, surely it would claim back more money in tax?
It would be interesting to see how the businesses on the Moreland Trading Estate get on and if they find it useful.
