FALCONRY, fly casting, clay shooting and even a hunting horn competition are just some of the attractions waiting to greet visitors to the Frampton Country Fair.

Organisers of the event, which takes place on Sunday, have reassured concerned ticket- holders that the fair will go ahead, whatever the weather.

Fair spokesman Cecil Weir said the weather forecast is set for sun and promised another great day out for visitors.

He said: "Although it has been a pretty damp summer, the fair benefits hugely from the fact most of its car parking areas are over sand and gravel which means the ground drains very well."

The fair, now in its 27th year, is very different from the inaugural event staged in 1986.

Back then, a small group of country pursuits enthusiasts decided to put together a few displays and competitions – with no idea that there would be so much keen interest in the country way of life and traditional country skills.

Now the show includes 400 exhibits and the normally quiet village of Frampton on Severn is expected to play host to more than 12,000 visitors.

One of the highlights this year will be the world famous White Helmets motorcycle display team (pictured above).

In their immaculate uniforms, the team performs spectacular feats of balance, death defying crossover rides and outstanding acrobatics.

The fair begins with a blessing in the main ring at 9.45am and continues throughout the day.
