County bathed in sunshine on hottest weekend of year
THE hottest weekend of the year so far launched a boom in barbecue sales as people hit gardens and parks across Gloucester to soak up hours of unbroken sunshine.
Temperatures topped 26C on Saturday, with yesterday's mercury rising to 25C.
It was perfect timing for many office workers forced to look at blue skies from their windows all week, with many getting outside to enjoy the fine weekend weather.
But cooler temperatures are expected this week in Gloucestershire. Heavy rain is expected in some parts of the county by late afternoon tomorrow, signalling bad weather on Wednesday with possible thunder showers, followed by a drizzly evening.
