THE Gloucestershire Health and Racquets Virgin Active Under-16s boys travelled to the David Lloyd Tennis Centre in Milton Keynes for their second Premier Division match.

The team of Elliot Hopson, Coby Ho, Ben Reid and Owain Atkinson started well, with Hopson and Ho comfortably winning their respective singles matches.

That was not to be the case for Reid and Atkinson, with Atkinson in particular facing tough Russian opposition.

For the second time running this season the team faced a 10 point match tie-break following honours even at the end of the afternoon.

This time it was Hopson and Atkinson who faced the challenge in front of a vocal home crowd who clearly felt the match was theirs for the taking.

The Virgin Active boys served well, and following some frantic volleying and carefully placed winners found themselves with three match points – the second of which they managed to convert for final victory.
