"He went on a mission to find me and then we got together."
Sadie, who used to smoke 20 a day, stopped along with Roiston, who smoked 10 a day, last week.
She said: "He is finding it harder than me, for me I enjoyed going out in the garden for a break and to have a fag really.
"I work in a bar so when they brought the smoking ban in I was really pleased."
The couple, who are due to marry on Saturday August 31, will be putting all the money they would have spent on cigarettes to one side for the wedding.
Sadie: "I try not to look how much is there but we have another six months yet to save.
"I never really thought about the health issues relating to smoking until now, so I decided to give up for health and money reasons.
"My daughter Shani, who's five, is going round telling everyone 'my mum has quit smoking'. She is very proud."
Roiston, 34, who was eager to marry his girl, asked Sadie's dad and daughter Shani for permission before he proposed.
Originally from Birmingham, Roiston is in the process of moving to Gloucester to be with Sadie and Shani.
Sadie said: "We hate being away from each other and are very excited to be living together.
"We met the vicar last week to set the date. I am very excited but very nervous as well."

“Good on them - it is often some sort of incentive like this that gets people to give up smoking (or any other addiction).”
