Couple who ran Cheltenham brothels jailed
A Chinese illegal immigrant who made about £180,000 from running brothels with her British husband's help in an upmarket Spa town was jailed for 21 months today.
Mum of two Ailing Zhuang, 42, was told that she will be deported at the end of her sentence unless she is granted asylum by the Home Secretary.

Her husband Barry Champion, 33, was jailed for a year.
The couple, of Berkeley Street in Cheltenham, both admitted operating or assisting in the operation of brothels at four addresses in the Regency town for three years between 2009 and 2012.

Prosecutor Rupert Lowe told Gloucester Crown Court it was estimated they turned over £430,000 in 38 months and made a profit of £184,000 .
He said police mounted a surveillance operation on on one of the addresses and saw as many as 30 men visit in a day.

“'She will be deported unless granted asylum by the Home Secretary'. This mother of two will use them to be her 'get of being deported card'. Her right to a family life will be cited and this will be the first time they have been considered, previously by her actions and then the subsequent jail term they weren't.”
