Crane on A417 - update
A crane has crashed on the A417 causing severe delays in both directions.
Police were called to the Air Balloon roundabout at Crickley Hill, Birdlip, at 7am after the crane suffered a mechanical failure which caused it to veer off the road.
The large vehicle has now been coned off and is passable, but Gloucestershire Police have said they will have to close the road completely after the rush hour to remove the crane.
The crash is causing traffic chaos and motorists are being urged to avoid the area if they can.

Queues are currently stretching back to the A46 roundabout towards Gloucester and the Cowley roundabout in the opposite direction.
